Trump Responds to Renewed Tensions Between Israel and Iran

Former President Donald Trump has called for de-escalation following reports that both Israel and Iran may have breached the terms of a recently announced ceasefire agreement. The ceasefire, which Trump played a key role in brokering, was intended to bring a peaceful resolution to the conflict that has lasted for nearly two weeks.

Earlier today, Trump had publicly celebrated the agreement, referring to it as the official end of what he called the “12-Day War.” In a message shared on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump praised the leadership of both nations and expressed optimism that the ceasefire would hold indefinitely.

“I would like to congratulate both countries, Israel and Iran, on having the stamina, courage, and intelligence to end what should be called ‘THE 12 DAY WAR,’” he wrote. “I believe the ceasefire is unlimited. It’s going to go forever.”

However, shortly after the announcement, conflicting reports emerged suggesting renewed hostilities. While Iran denied launching any new missile attacks against Israel in the hours following the ceasefire, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz stated that the Iranian side had violated the agreement. In response, he authorized continued Israeli military operations targeting strategic infrastructure within Iran.

“In light of Iran’s clear violation of the ceasefire… I have instructed the IDF to continue high-intensity operations targeting regime assets and terror infrastructure in Tehran,” Katz said in an official statement.

In response to the rising tensions, Trump posted another statement on Truth Social, urging Israel to exercise restraint. “ISRAEL. DO NOT DROP THOSE BOMBS. IF YOU DO IT IS A MAJOR VIOLATION. BRING YOUR PILOTS HOME, NOW! DONALD J. TRUMP, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES,” he wrote.

These developments come just days after the United States carried out a targeted air campaign against Iranian nuclear facilities—an operation previously authorized by Trump and described by him as a “military success.” According to defense officials, the strikes were aimed at limiting nuclear proliferation while avoiding civilian casualties. Iran, in turn, vowed to respond but has not confirmed any recent action.

In an address following the operation, Trump stated: “Our objective was to dismantle nuclear enrichment capabilities and reduce threats to global stability. We believe this mission achieved those goals. Now is the time for peace and restraint.”

As of now, the international community is closely monitoring the situation. While some leaders have praised efforts to bring both nations to the negotiating table, others remain concerned that renewed violence could undermine regional stability. The United Nations is expected to convene a special session to assess the developments and encourage continued diplomatic engagement.

The coming days will be critical in determining whether the ceasefire holds and whether dialogue can prevail over further conflict. For now, global observers continue to urge all parties to prioritize diplomacy and long-term solutions.
