Suspected Charlie Kirk Assassin Could Face Death by Firing Squad

  • On Tuesday, the alleged murderer of Charlie Kirk was charged with multiple crimes, including aggravated murder, which, in the state of Utah in which he was charged, carries with it the potential for death by firing squad.

Though most executions in the U.S. involve lethal injection, Utah is one of only two states with the death penalty that have used the firing squad. Utah itself executed inmates by firing squad in 1977, 1996, and 2010, per USA Today.

2025 was almost added to that list less than two weeks ago in the case of Ralph Menzies. The Sept. 5 execution was stayed by the Utah Supreme Court when it was determined Menzies, who chose the firing squad decades ago, may not understand why he’s being executed due to dementia.

  • ‘This Is Not a Both Sides Problem’: Vance Lays Out Shocking Stats on Liberal Violence

During his appearance hosting “The Charlie Kirk Show” Monday, Vice President JD Vance called out the growing amount of violence and violent attitudes on the left, noting that the issue is not a “both sides problem.”

Citing recent YouGov polling statistics, Vance noted that liberals are far more likely to defend feelings of joy over the death of political opponents.

The statistics came from a series of three polls conducted on Sept. 10, 11, and 12. The polls surveyed 2,646, 4,028, and 3,004 U.S. adults respectively with samples weighted for gender, age, race, education, region, and political party with 2.5 percent, 3 percent, and 2.5 percent margins of error.

The results showed a truly shocking disparity between U.S. liberals and conservatives.

When asked “Do you generally consider it to be acceptable or unacceptable for a person to be happy about the death of a public figure they oppose?” 24 percent of “very liberal” respondents said “acceptable.”

Only 3 percent of “very conservative” respondents agreed.
